2018 Pascal & Nicolas Reverdy "La Coûtes" Sancerre
100% Sauvignon Blanc from perhaps the most iconic place in the world for the grape, Sancerre. "La Coûtes" is harvested from 5 plots and fermented in large oak vats, but show no oak character. Instead, Reverdy wines are always fresh and mineral, showcasing the wonderful white clay (terres blanche) that dominates in their vineyards.
The word "Coûtes" comes from the old local language ("berrichon"), and was used to designate the hills of vines. Marne soils (aka Terre Blanche), hand-harvested at 45 hl/ha. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled unfiltered.
